Privacy Policy

ClipToolbox ("we") runs a free, in-browser video clipper and editor. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• A random session id. When you first use the app we set a cookie (clipdeck_uid) with a random value so your clips, uploads and projects stay attached to your browser. It contains no personal information.
• Files you create. Clips you download and files you upload are stored on our server so the editor can use them, isolated per session id. You can delete them from the library at any time. Unused files are pruned automatically.
• Basic request logs. Our server keeps short-lived logs (IP address, page, timestamp) to run the service and prevent abuse.
• A per-day page-view counter. Aggregate only, with no identifiers, so we can see roughly how the site is used.
• Account details, only if you sign in. If you create an account we store your email address to identify you.

Video sources

When you paste a link, our server fetches that video from the source site to make your clip. We do not store the source URL beyond the life of the job.

Cookies and local storage

We use the clipdeck_uid cookie described above, and your browser's local storage to remember editor settings and unfinished work on your device. Google sets additional cookies for the services below.

Advertising and analytics

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads and, where permitted, to personalise them. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage. IP addresses are anonymised and we do not use it to identify you.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are shown Google's certified consent message before non-essential cookies are used, and Google Consent Mode keeps storage denied until a choice is made. Elsewhere these services load by default; clearing your browser data or using your browser's tracking controls opts you out.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure and, where enabled, advertising and analytics providers needed to run the site (our hosting provider and Google).

Data retention

Uploaded and downloaded files are removed automatically when they go unused, and immediately when you delete them. Request logs are short-lived. Account records are kept until you ask us to delete the account.

Your choices

Clear your browser storage to reset your session and remove the cookie. Delete individual files from the library. To close an account and remove its email address, contact us.
